New England tight end Rob Gronkowski was in the crowd yesterday in Orlando for WrestleMania 33, in no small part to cheer on his good friend and professional wrestler Mojo Rawley. Rawley, himself an ex-NFL defensive lineman, was engaged in a heated battle with opponent Jinder Mahal. When the bout took leave of the ring and made its way closer to the fans, Gronkowski stood up in his seat to cheer, much to the chagrin of Mahal. Grabbing his drink - seemingly for refreshment, at first - Mahal dumped the contents over Gronkowski, leaving no question that he wasn't too pleased with why the two-time Super Bowl champ was there. A bold move, for sure, but not one that payed off for Mahal in the end.
As the fight made it's way back into the ring, an enraged Gronkowski removed his shirt, hopped the ringside barrier and, after a brief clash with security, entered the ring to help his old friend and avenge his besmirched honour. Dropping into a three-point stance and charging Mahal, Gronk delivered an enormous shoulder-tackle before celebrating together with Rawley in the ring.
